  • [5:35 PM] [R] SHIVA: Is there a pre-defined mechanism to forward the proposals to isoc board or to governements and to other international organizations ? That requires the decentralized celeberations to be converged into a centralized action plan
  • [5:37 PM] [R] SHIVA: There is some parellel with IGF.. IGF also is an even, but there is no concrete mechanizm in place to carry the proposals that emerge

  • [5:41 PM] [R] SHIVA: ICANN, ISOC, IETF and other internet organizations have organization members whose websites are visited by millions of people, would it be possible to reach out to some of these organizationsal sponsors to display a one web day banner for a week or so in their home pages? An example would be that of displaing banners in the orkut home page or linked in / facebook home page which is a simple measure that would create a tremendous exposure to the event
  • [5:41 PM] [R] Ruudisoc: we (isoc belgium) participated last year ...
  • [5:41 PM] [R] Veni: Susan, are you working with ISOC chapters in these cities?
  • [5:41 PM] [R] SHIVA: Get the organizations to celeberate one weeb day

  • [5:41 PM] [R] SHIVA: a little bit of push may be required.
  • [5:41 PM] [R] SHIVA: if facebook, orkut and other social networking sites put up a banner we have an exposure to a hundred million web users
  • [5:41 PM] [R] joly: i have alitle work to do on the interface to the various art
  • [5:41 PM] [R] Veni: well, you have the facebook group and cause of OWD...

  • [5:41 PM] [R] Veni: Susan, can you send me an email with all relevant links, a short press-release, which I can forward directly (and perhaps translate into Bulgarian, Russian), so that it gets spread on the Internet in different groups world-wide?
  • [5:41 PM] [R] Susan: sure
  • [5:41 PM] [R] Veni: Oh, big question: can you publish the information on your web under Creative Commons - attribution license, so that we can use it freely?
